This is pouring, tilting & splattering paint on Yupo paper. Then looking for something in the wash I saw cars & buildings going up the hill. This reminded me of a place we saw on one of our trips Near Parker AZ , a little town on the Colorado River that stands on the hills above the river.

Storm Over Dry Creek Linda Rupard

Liquid acrylic on Yupo. Dry Creeks in AZ can become raging rivers real fast. Waterfalls & rivers where there were none. In AZ they say turn around don't drown. Lots of people don'n listen & they have to be rescued if possible & sometimes they cant be. So remember turn around don't drown. I like that catchy little saying, good advise too.

I needed a change so I dug out the Yupo paper & put washes & splattered paint. Then I found these flowers in the paint & using negative painting I brought them out. I used liquid acrylic paint very watered down, it went on like watercolor.

Flat Top Mountain

These mountains are to the South of my house. I can imagine smoke signals coming from the round top of Signal Mountain. Many different Indian Tribes & other Travelers came through our area. Buffalo & other game were found here where the grass & water were plentiful. This is W TX but we did have lots of water & running Springs at one time. Moss Springs was a popular place to picnic , swim or just to cool off. A beautiful cavelike overhang was by the Spring. Too bad that progress caused the overhang to cave in. Not sure if it still flows but at one time it was flowing at another spot. Moss Springs is near Signal Mountain. This painting is done in watercolor on Yupo paper.

Medicine Man

This is on Yupo paper done in watercolor. Splatter, poured & sprayed on paint over different objects & using different things to make many textures. Then negative painting behind a shape that I could see in all the clutter.
