Crooked Building linda Rupard

I like doing crooked buildings they seem to be dancing across the page.   This is a sketch of one of my watercolors  that was sold in its early days before I got to hang it up to enjoy .  Think I will do another one soon.  From the photo I can see I need to get much darker on the mountains.  I will share that when it is finished.  This was done in my sketchbook.

Joshua Tree Linda Rupard

This acrylic painting is on an 8 X 8 gallery wrap canvas,   ready to hang.  I did this when we were in Congress AZ.   Looks warm I think .  We are having some warm days now her in West TX feels good.  Just need some nice rain showers so our wild flowers will bloom & everything sparkle with the dust settled.  Hope there was enough  rain in the winter so our Blue Bonnets will bloom good and we can go down to the hill country soon to see the fields of blue so very beautiful.

Wickenburg Sunset Linda Rupard

This is a sunset over the mountains near Wickenburg AZ I did while we were there.  Second photo is my workshop painting I did in Diane's class from one of  her photos.    Both are done on Arches cold press 300 lb. paper.   Third photo,  we  were setting on this  outside balcony of a Sedona restaurant having an ice cream cone looking out at the beautiful colorful mountains.  Really an awesome place especially  for artist  you just have to paint or snap a photo.

South West Sunset Linda Rupard

This is a  paper collage on a 12 X 12 gallery wrap canvas.    Found  from paper put down  from one of my cut up cards  where this image   magically appeared and I defined it with more paper collage .  I am working on my show for July.  I am also taking 2 fun online workshops.  I will try to find time to post some of my work from these workshops soon  along with some of my new work .   The Caboose show  continues until the  last week in June .

I think I can call this finished  .    This   collage painting is on  a cradle canvas with   2
inch edges collaged to match the painting, wired and  ready to hang, no frame needed.
I have 2  more going on   12 X 12  cradle boards.    The small photo is the edge of the
painting shown. These three paintings  are going to Betz Gallery in Houston for their 12X 12
show in Nov.     Wow, it is Nov.  seems like it got here fast this  year.  I hope all my friends
in New York & the East coast are getting through this  terrible weather they are having &
& haven't lost anything to the winds, fires & floods.

Skull Collage in progress Linda Rupard

I am working on this skull collage 12x12 cradle board.  May take out the pots & rug behind the skull,  working in acrylic & collage.  Also working on a 24 X 24 skull & mountain acrylic on 24 X 24  cradle board canvas.  Hopefully I will have both finished by next week to post .  Everything slowed down again because I am also trying to get my studio going again after it flooded  and I lost lots of things.  We are still going through & throwing away things that got too wet to save I hated to loose the area carpet we had just had in for a week but it had to go.    Husband sealed the area where  we think water came in I am looking at carpet tiles this time so they will be easier to replace if something does get spilled or dropped  on carpet.  Though it could flood again if we get 10 inches of rain.  The only time I have ever saw that happen here  in our area of West TX.    I am saving all the outside edges for painting & only carpeting  in the middle of the studio  area.  I didn't want just cement for all the floors.  I  may paint that part later on.

Mountain Stream Linda Rupard

Arlis
Have more warm works going but cooling it off today. Really love the mountains & streams with the wind blowing through the trees. Quite & peaceful. The wind is blowing today & coming down the wood stove pipe which I love to hear. It reminds me of when I was a kid an our windmill would make the creaking sound that Mother didn't like because it sounded lonesome to her, another sound I loved . Knew you were in the country when you could hear the windmill rolling.

Mountain Lake

This is one of those beautiful CO lakes. Clouds, have to go out of West TX to see those now days. A rain & Lighting & Thunder, sounds good. In the mountains there is nothing like the rolling Thunder & flashes of lightening that you can experience. The smell of the rain on the pines & in the clean mountain air. Lighting is like watching a fireworks display. This painting is a watercolor on paper. 11 x 15. Much looser then I usually paint so no drawing just paint.
But the clouds are not all good to our neighbors in MO, OK & other states that are suffering bad storms & tornados. You have our prayers & sorrow for your loss.

Flat Top Mountain

These mountains are to the South of my house. I can imagine smoke signals coming from the round top of Signal Mountain. Many different Indian Tribes & other Travelers came through our area. Buffalo & other game were found here where the grass & water were plentiful. This is W TX but we did have lots of water & running Springs at one time. Moss Springs was a popular place to picnic , swim or just to cool off. A beautiful cavelike overhang was by the Spring. Too bad that progress caused the overhang to cave in. Not sure if it still flows but at one time it was flowing at another spot. Moss Springs is near Signal Mountain. This painting is done in watercolor on Yupo paper.
