Crooked Building linda Rupard

I like doing crooked buildings they seem to be dancing across the page.   This is a sketch of one of my watercolors  that was sold in its early days before I got to hang it up to enjoy .  Think I will do another one soon.  From the photo I can see I need to get much darker on the mountains.  I will share that when it is finished.  This was done in my sketchbook.

Mesa Church Linda Rupard

This was done from a photo I took while in AZ. Watercolor & Ink on paper 11 x 15 . Also a photo I found of some of our fun trips we took while we were there. This store was in an old mining town that we went to near Superstition Mountains . Lots of old buildings had been restored and cowboys & traders in tents were there to help you see how it was back then. The old snake Dr was hawking his wares & it must have been like back then too, because he was full of bull. All that was missing was his medicine wagon.

Sanctuary

This is a church we saw in either NM or AZ. So many photos I cant remember where this one is. I love all the beautiful adobe churches & buildings that can be seen in the SW. Painted in watercolor on paper. 15 x 22

Degrazia Chapel

This chapel is done on & old textured painting that I gessoed. First I lightly drew in chapel , then I painted it all in watercolor. Almost like painting on Yupo. From a photo I had taken at " Gallery In the Sun" site in Tuson AZ.

Textured Church

This is a photo of a church that I started in Doug Walton's workshop. I used a sketch from my sketch book of an old abandoned country church . We used texture & stamps of various things. Lids, bubble wrap, cheese cutter, plastic bag, squares & circles. Then we put on a latex wash. After it was dry we put the painting subject on with crayon. Then painted the subject leaving as much of the underpainting as possible.
