I have had a wild day in the studio today fun but work. This is one of the 3 I have going now. I was mixing each palette on paper plates & switching palettes as I changed paintings. One of the plates was in my chair that I set in sometimes & yep I set on it, just lucky plate was not too full This one is getting close but see that more work needs to be done . It is acrylic on a one inch cradle board panel so no frame is needed.

This is an acrylic painting on 20 X 20 cradleboard wired for hanging. The background Bluebonnets are much lighter then the photo shows. Sorry about the glare but best I could get . May do some tweaking then varnishing & it will be ready to find a new home.

Strawberry Pie Linda Rupard
We were eating in a restaurant and Tex had already cut one bite of his Strawberry Pie before I saw what an interesting painting it would make. I don't like Strawberry so Tex had this piece & we took the other piece home for later. The next time we went there it they had chocolate or coconut pie so being my favorite pies I eat one & Tex took the other home for me. Wonder why I didn't think of taking photo of them? Maybe my fork was too busy. That is really sharing , letting someone have you chocolate pie. Yummy! Wonder why the chocolate & coconut pies are so much smaller pieces then the red pies. Zentangle Zebra Linda Rupard
I got a new silver pen so I added it to my Black & white Zentangle Zebra. Then I decided to add the red watercolor. Tex saw a flag when I showed it to him, I guess the stars & red & white stripes do look like a flag at first glance. I like the silver pen with the black pen & red watercolor . On the original whole stars are visible.

Zentangle Circles Linda Rupard

Another fun Zentangle from my sketchbook. I really enjoy doing these Zentangles, so many different ways to find another way to draw a line. Nice to have these going at the same time as painting so I can finish one each day.

Red Scarf Linda Rupard
I was playing in my sketchbook & found out the Inktense pencils were watersoluble . There it was on the box, I just thought Ink meant it wasn't. So I thought why not try it on my last post painting. It worked great, & I like it much better. I only used water on the Ginger Jar , rose & scarf & left the pencil marks showing in the background color. I really like the Derwent Inktense pencials. Looks like I will be using them more now. I have had them a good while so I am not sure where I got them but I think Hobby Lobby. I also changed the shape of the rose.Click to contact the artist for more information about this painting.

Zentangle Poppy Linda Rupard
I am working on a Bluebonnet painting but meanwhile I have this small Zentangle painting with a red poppy. I cant get true color in a photo, I guess it is too small. We found this hill of Bluebonnets out on the Willow Loop near Fredericksburg on our Bluebonnet Trails trip. You can almost see where the blue color is going to be up the hill & make a wave of blue, almost there. I wanted to stay for more color to pop but have to come home sometime so I can paint. But it was so nice to be able to see & smell these beautiful blooms. I found Indian Blankets, Black Eyed Susan & Indian Paintbrush in patches with some of the white Poppies in the Bluebonnets out that way , not many yet but they are coming along & just know it is going to be full bloom soon.

Top photo was a wild poppy found among the Bluebonnets near Baby's Head cemetery. I found the Butterfly near this flower so it got on the flower to be photographed too. Now to get some of these photos into more paintings. Time to paint.Click to contact the artist for more information about this painting

Bluebonnet Photos Linda Rupard
I just lost a lot of photos I had taken of so many beautiful bluebonnet photos because right in the middle of saving my imported photos it was decided I had to have a password which I have never had to have when I am I saving photos before. This may be all I can post unless my Kids can figure this out. Hope to have more to share soon. I will keep them on the camera next time until I know they are saved. It was so wonderful standing in the fields of blue with some pinks, whites , yellow & red to orange color flowers mixed in with the vivid blue purple. The fragrance of these wild flowers is so sweet wish I could share that too.
Sunset Over The Colorado Linda Rupard
This is pouring, tilting & splattering paint on Yupo paper. Then looking for something in the wash I saw cars & buildings going up the hill. This reminded me of a place we saw on one of our trips Near Parker AZ , a little town on the Colorado River that stands on the hills above the river.

Welcome Spring Linda Rupard
This is a watercolor on paper. This is a welcoming Spring flower. Love these bright colors that seem to sing, it is Spring. This has been a much nicer Spring for us here in West Texas, bit more rain , makes for more green & flower color. The Birds are singing , something that I didn't hear as much last year as this one. Now if we can just keep getting a bit of rain to fill our lakes here & keep the plants green & the fires away. We can stay happy all Summer & maybe cooler too.
