Fruit & Flowers Linda Rupard

This is another painting I finished in Jan van Huysum's style.  Jan painted mostly still-life set ups of flowers & fruit.  He was a painter during the 18th century & one of the first flower painters to use the dark backgrounds to  make  his flower colors pop.   This was done in the old Master's style on
gallery wrapped canvas with edges painted to match front .  20 X 24.   The Caboose group has their old masters style paintings  show up during May at the Heritage Museum in Big Spring , TX.    Reception is Friday 5:00---7:00 May 24th.  Most of the artist will be there so hope to see some friends there.

Grapes Linda Rupard

Lots of celebration this time of the year so I will do party goodies this week. Tomorrow I will paint the wine made from these grapes I . Watercolor on paper & ink.

Fruit

This painting is a reworked watercolor with ink. Not much painting this week. We have been off enjoying a fun time at the Johnston Family reunion in Athens. Lots of good food & catching up . My Daddy's family was a large one. There were 8 boys & 5 girls so lots of cousins & lots of talking & photos snapped .

Reflections

Reflections is an opaque watercolor over a failed painting. Leaving lots of old painting as a background wash helped me to get the reflections more realistic. Watercolor on paper. 15 x 22
