Flower Boot
This neat boot with flowers was the center piece at our Big Country Art Show in Colorado City.
This center piece was made by one of our members in the West TX Art Guild. Such a fun photo I had to paint it. Two of my favorite subjects, flowers & western.

Tomatoes
This is one of the paintings I did to get my mind on Spring & off of cold weather. We are hoping to work on my studio today . Still trying to get it all together. Hardest part of moving has been the studio. Painting in a small room is not as easy as painting in an area where I have room to have all the supplies in one place. Hope to have more flat working areas in this studio. I will post some of my different studios when I get this all organized.

The Cross
This is another painting I started in Doug Walton's class. The texture is more visible with this one. The Cross is on 22 x 30 watercolor paper. Latex, acrylic & some watercolor washes were used. I found that the watercolor washes were more transparent without having to thin it as much as acrylic paint has to be thinned . I am heavy handed sometimes so watercolor was easier for me. We all did crosses & all were different.
Fun to see what each artist comes up with.

Textured Church
This is a photo of a church that I started in Doug Walton's workshop. I used a sketch from my sketch book of an old abandoned country church . We used texture & stamps of various things. Lids, bubble wrap, cheese cutter, plastic bag, squares & circles. Then we put on a latex wash. After it was dry we put the painting subject on with crayon. Then painted the subject leaving as much of the underpainting as possible.

American Icon
Buffalo were a part of our country that was so important to the people that traveled & lived in North American. Especially for the Indians who depended on buffalo for food, shelter & clothing. The buffalo hunters soon brought this important icon almost to extinction . Now buffalo can only be seen in small herds on private land or in our Yellowstone Nation Park.
