Bluebonnet Photos Linda Rupard

I just lost a lot of photos I had taken of so many beautiful bluebonnet photos because right in the middle of saving my imported photos it was decided I had to have a password which I have never had to have when I am I saving photos before. This may be all I can post unless my Kids can figure this out. Hope to have more to share soon. I will keep them on the camera next time until I know they are saved. It was so wonderful standing in the fields of blue with some pinks, whites , yellow & red to orange color flowers mixed in with the vivid blue purple. The fragrance of these wild flowers is so sweet wish I could share that too.

Sunset Over The Colorado Linda Rupard

This is pouring, tilting & splattering paint on Yupo paper. Then looking for something in the wash I saw cars & buildings going up the hill. This reminded me of a place we saw on one of our trips Near Parker AZ , a little town on the Colorado River that stands on the hills above the river.

Welcome Spring Linda Rupard

This is a watercolor on paper. This is a welcoming Spring flower. Love these bright colors that seem to sing, it is Spring. This has been a much nicer Spring for us here in West Texas, bit more rain , makes for more green & flower color. The Birds are singing , something that I didn't hear as much last year as this one. Now if we can just keep getting a bit of rain to fill our lakes here & keep the plants green & the fires away. We can stay happy all Summer & maybe cooler too.

Mama & Baby Donkey

I struggled drawing this one & I had to use the eraser so much that a solution to fixing the shorter neck & other needs I used tracing paper & moved it around to get the correct drawing. Thanks to my friend Sue who is one of the 6 Caboose artist who does this. Then I put drawing on light-box & traced onto watercolor paper. In Doug Walton's class I would have used crayon or some wax resist for this step. Then with my drawing on my watercolor paper I began my painting. This time I did the Donkeys first then added the background in washes. This is painted from more photos from our Oatman AZ day trip from the campground we were staying at in Lake Havasu City AZ. This is the same little Donkey from the all tuckered earlier post who had set up to see what was going on around him when we came back down the street. Guess nap time was over.

Imagine Linda Rupard

I see things in this first time wash & splattered paint but not sure if I want to bring it out or leave it to the imagination of the viewer. I used liquid acrylic paint on Yupo paper.

Storm Over Dry Creek Linda Rupard

Liquid acrylic on Yupo. Dry Creeks in AZ can become raging rivers real fast. Waterfalls & rivers where there were none. In AZ they say turn around don't drown. Lots of people don'n listen & they have to be rescued if possible & sometimes they cant be. So remember turn around don't drown. I like that catchy little saying, good advise too.

Shopping New York Linda Rupard

I started this collage couple of years ago. It was so wild that I put it away. But now I am seeing more wild things so I brought it out & finished it. I think it is finished. A fun piece to do. New York was one of the words I collaged on so N Y shopping seemed to be a good name. Collage on 140 arches watercolor paper.

Flower Power Linda Rupard

This is liquid acrylic on Yupo. Photo is darker on the bottom part then it really is but best I could get. I heard the Bluebonnets were starting to bloom in some areas in TX so maybe we will have a good year for Bluebonnet Photos. It really is beautiful when we have a good year. The fields of blue are unbelievable. They are blooming earlier then usual. Really hope we don't have a hard freeze & loose some before they are in full bloom. I guess the golden Poppies are blooming in AZ now. That is an awesome site too when they have a good year & enough rain. True in TX too, have to have enough rain. But I think all the snow & rain we got in the winter will bring them on. Also enough rain to help some of our lakes with their water levels.

Mountain Stream Linda Rupard

Arlis
Have more warm works going but cooling it off today. Really love the mountains & streams with the wind blowing through the trees. Quite & peaceful. The wind is blowing today & coming down the wood stove pipe which I love to hear. It reminds me of when I was a kid an our windmill would make the creaking sound that Mother didn't like because it sounded lonesome to her, another sound I loved . Knew you were in the country when you could hear the windmill rolling.

Just A Fiddling Linda Rupard

This is an older painting I worked on some more. Watercolor with ink on paper. Fun to have something with our flag in it because we need to protect what it stands for. Freedom because we are a country that has lasted as long as we have because of all the people who have given their lives or served in our Military to protect our rights. We do need to honor our country, Flag and keep GOD in our Constitution & his Name on everything that it has been on since the beginning of our great Free country. We like the way it is & need to keep what has always worked for our Free Country.
