AZ Church Linda Rupard

Click to contact the artist for more information about this painting.
This is a watercolor with Ink of a church in  Sedona AZ that I have painted many times.   So much fun to go to Sedona & get inspired.    They have lots of artist there & many galleries.    The color just makes you want to paint, photo, sketch or just  walk & see all that beautiful color .

Skull Collage Linda Rupard

This is a collage I started before we moved & it has been lost.   Found it & got excited about working on it again.    I have worked on it most of the day not   finished yet but needs a bit more work  before I can call it finished.     I will study it tonight & hopefully finish it tomorrow.   Used lots of paper from the Cowboy & Indians magazine so lots of western objects can be found in it.   I also used some rice paper on top of the head that had squares in it that are more transparent in the center, so some of the under painting shows through that part.

Chicken Soup Linda Rupard

This is an acrylic on cradle board with edges painted so no framing needed.    Painted from a still life set up & some imagination.    Still needs to be varnished & then wire attached inside the cradle  to eye screws.   This will help the board to  hang flush to wall & makes it easier to keep painting straight on the wall.

Girl in Checks Linda Rupard

Well I am trying again this is not easy burrrr  .    Third time around again, I don't like this new format for my blog.   Guess I just have to keep on trying & maybe I will get er done.    I  have the new Spring 2012 Journaling Magazine & I found an article about a great artist Adriana Almanza.   I love the way she does her eyes in her Doll Dreams article.   So I had to try the eyes in a photograph I have & it was fun to do.   I like the muted backside too so have a photo of it also.   I may have to do this one on canvas or watercolor paper.

Bluebonnet Barn Linda Rupard

I hope I  can figure out this new blog system that blogspot has come up with.    When you don't have computer savvy all changes are a chore.    This is the third time around for me to try to get a post on my blog.     This is a bluebonnet painting in acrylic  done on canvas.   Painted from photos taken in Fredricksburg TX,    I think on the Willow Loop.     Many more in the works hope to post soon if I can get them on this new blog system.

Strawberry Pie Linda Rupard

We were eating in a restaurant and Tex had already cut one bite of his Strawberry Pie before I saw what an interesting painting it would make. I don't like Strawberry so Tex had this piece & we took the other piece home for later. The next time we went there it they had chocolate or coconut pie so being my favorite pies I eat one & Tex took the other home for me. Wonder why I didn't think of taking photo of them? Maybe my fork was too busy. That is really sharing , letting someone have you chocolate pie. Yummy! Wonder why the chocolate & coconut pies are so much smaller pieces then the red pies. Um

Zentangle Zebra Linda Rupard

I got a new silver pen so I added it to my Black & white Zentangle Zebra. Then I decided to add the red watercolor. Tex saw a flag when I showed it to him, I guess the stars & red & white stripes do look like a flag at first glance. I like the silver pen with the black pen & red watercolor . On the original whole stars are visible.

Zentangle Circles Linda Rupard

Another fun Zentangle from my sketchbook. I really enjoy doing these Zentangles, so many different ways to find another way to draw a line. Nice to have these going at the same time as painting so I can finish one each day.

Red Scarf Linda Rupard

I was playing in my sketchbook & found out the Inktense pencils were watersoluble . There it was on the box, I just thought Ink meant it wasn't. So I thought why not try it on my last post painting. It worked great, & I like it much better. I only used water on the Ginger Jar , rose & scarf & left the pencil marks showing in the background color. I really like the Derwent Inktense pencials. Looks like I will be using them more now. I have had them a good while so I am not sure where I got them but I think Hobby Lobby. I also changed the shape of the rose.

Zentangle Poppy Linda Rupard

I am working on a Bluebonnet painting but meanwhile I have this small Zentangle painting with a red poppy. I cant get true color in a photo, I guess it is too small. We found this hill of Bluebonnets out on the Willow Loop near Fredericksburg on our Bluebonnet Trails trip. You can almost see where the blue color is going to be up the hill & make a wave of blue, almost there. I wanted to stay for more color to pop but have to come home sometime so I can paint.
But it was so nice to be able to see & smell these beautiful blooms. I found Indian Blankets, Black Eyed Susan & Indian Paintbrush in patches with some of the white Poppies in the Bluebonnets out that way , not many yet but they are coming along & just know it is going to be full bloom soon.

Fredericksburg Blooms Linda Rupard

This was a so very pretty to see all the angels & crosses surrounded by Bluebonnets . Whole cemetery was full of Bluebonnets. This is a cemetery in Fredericksburg. Top photo was a wild poppy found among the Bluebonnets near Baby's Head cemetery. I found the Butterfly near this flower so it got on the flower to be photographed too. Now to get some of these photos into more paintings. Time to paint.
