Yosemite Waterfall

View of a waterfall in Yosemite National Park. Painted from sketch in my sketchbook & photo I had taken in the park last Summer on our trip to CA. A watercolor on paper 11 x 15 . We traveled down South to Riverside CA. Here took a Color Bootcamp with Elin Pendleton . Elin's class was in her Studio which was a really neat place. Two Trees is on a hill against BLM land so she has lots of space where she goes out to paint. Mr Vangoat carries her art supplies when she has paint outs.

Clastic Spring Flower

This is one of our Spring flowers with bright orange colors . These pretty flowers grew in the yard of my former house. I did get to bring some of my plants to our new house but they probably wont make it. No rain & water restrictions with the tremendous heat has been hard on our transplants & new plants. Fire burned 15,ooo acres of our pretty mountains yesterday & still burning at this time. The flames were visible from our house last night. We are praying for rain & less heat.

Kay, Mary & I at Brushworks

Went to Kays to see Mary. Our painting friend that has been off the brush for around 5 years. She is painting again. Hard to be an artist & loose the desire to paint when something changes in your life. She's back & I hope to see some wow paintings coming from her brush. Kay's studio is a wonderful place to get your creative side moving. Have seen many of her paintings on the blogs but seeing them in person is great. If you get a chance to go by Brushworks it is worth the trip.

Reflections

Reflections is an opaque watercolor over a failed painting. Leaving lots of old painting as a background wash helped me to get the reflections more realistic. Watercolor on paper. 15 x 22

Dress Up

This is another painting I did from our Mad Hat day. I used a photo of 3 of the Girls posing for the cameras. Something about wearing a hat makes me feel dressed up & special. I really wished ladies still wore hats and high heels. I went through a Department Store in the Lubbock mall yesterday & there are so many beautiful shoes. Straps , hills & colors . Reminded me of a pair of shoes my Mother had when I was a little Girl. I know I couldn't wear tall hills but would enjoy seeing them on other people. Watercolor on paper. 15 x 22
