This is a photo of Evelyn Boren's demo. at Santa Fe art expo. I missed most of her demo because I couldn't find the right room but got to see Evelyn splatter a blend of Yellow WC plus Gouache onto the light part of the trees. Contact Evelyn for info about this painting. Leada my friend is in Santa Fe & Taos area for the fall color Leada sent me a great photo of of some of that gold showing in the trees so color is showing up if anyone can make the trip .

Suzanne McNeil workshop Linda Rupard
Click to contact the artist for more information about this painting. More excited classes at the Santa Fe Expo. I was fortunate to be able to take a Zentangle & Watercolor class from Suzanne McNeil who has had several books published on Zentangle & is a certified teacher of Zentangle. Suzan went to the creators of Zentangle Rick Roberts & Maria Thomas and learned from them so She become a certified Teacher. Many Zen patterns (tangles) were inspired by Indian henna, Celtic art, Zuni & Native American pottery and Islamic tiling. I had trouble getting the patterns down right so just added more lines. So glad Suzan says that no mistakes are made in Zentangle. So you can just go with them & create .

Tom Lynch Workshop Linda Rupard

I feel so lucky to have been able to go to Santa Fe to the Art Expo event last week. I had workshops with 3 fun teachers. First WS was with Tom Lynch. First we were treated to a demo then using our own photos we drew our photo on a small piece of watercolor paper. Tom showed us how he would paint it on each one's sketch.
Then we tried to paint it like Tom did. Then he checked each one & critiqued them correcting each one. For Tom's class you have to use Gemini paper (made in England & distributed by Stratmore) it is easy to correct mistakes , lift color & then have the ability to repaint over the scrubbed area. Wonderful paper which I will try to use some more. I have always worked on 140 cold press Arches paper which has been my favorite paper for a long time.
Jury still out on which one will become my favorite paper. More Expo fun in next post. Above Tom demo's, first painting is Tom's small demo on my sketch, second painting is mine. I decided to put clouds over my mountains after I got home. The chart is found in Tom's book along with many more. Yes, I had to have a signed Tom Lynch book.

I'm back and I did this Shoe on a wood cradle board. Sorry about the glare. I had painted the background first & after I collaged the shoe I decided to just leave the background instead of collaging. Sides are painted ready for hanging. Showing 2 photos so you can see all the background.

In progress -Muffin
Well having trouble with photo shop but posting anyway. This is a collage I am working on now. Traveling around trying to stay out of trouble & it found me. Yes I got Shingles & a word of advise please don't suffer through that stuff if you haven't gotten the shot go get it. Much easier then this stuff. Anyone who has had chicken-pox can get that virus. Will try to get photos of travels on soon. I will post again when this is finished.
